A
Circle of Friends
We've joined together
as classmates
as the new year begins...
A year full of learning
while we become friends.
We'll share and be kind
as we work and play.
And our friendship
will grow with each passing day.
I would like to take this opportunity
to welcome you to our third grade class. In order to increase the communication
between home and school, I will be sending a newsletter home each month.
It is my hope that these newsletters will give you a better understanding
of our third grade program. I
will highlight specific units, skills and concepts that we will be learning
each month. Dates for tests will be in your child’s assignment book.
List
of Supplies:
Before
you start to buy supplies for school, I would like to tell you that you
will be receiving enough folders and a homework assignment pad from me.
Here is the list of other items that you will need:
• 2 – Three-ring binders – 1 ½ inch please -
(white preferred). One binder is called our BEE ( B ring E verything E
veryday) Binder and it is a terrific tool for creating organization and
responsibility in students. The binder will hold your child’s homework
planner, homework folder, Friday folder, and other important information.
Please be sure the binders have a front and back pocket. Although strongly
recommended, having a binder is optional on your part.
The
other binder will be our writing portfolio binder. I will supply the materials
that will go in the Writing binder.
•1 book jacket or book sock
• A box of crayons (optional-no larger than 24)
• A skinny dry erase/whiteboard marker, preferably black (to be
used with our student-sized white boards). These markers will be collected.
•
A zipper pencil pouch
•
Clorox wipes for our desktops
•
A box of tissues
•
Your very best SMILE!
