Mrs. Linda Hauck

Room 104

Dear Students,

I look forward to meeting all you that will be "new" to my classes this September. I also can't wait to say hello to those of you I have taught in the past. I hope everyone has a happy and healthy summer.

Mrs. Hauck

Here are a few things to think about before you come to class.

Classroom Rules

1. Come to class prepared and ready to learn. This includes bringing any books, paper, pencils, and supplies necessary to participate in class.

2. Respect all staff, other students, school buildings, and grounds.

3. Be on time for class.

4. Follow directions and listen to instructions.

5. Complete homework on time.

Remember that classroom rules are here to help you learn.

Homework Make-up

It is your responsibility to ask for any missing assignments due to an absence. Please see me your first day back to find out what you missed. You may also phone a friend while you are out and ask them what you missed.

Test/Quiz Make-up

Again, it is your responsibility to check for a missed test or quiz due to an absence. See me the day you return so that we can set up a day and time to take the test/quiz. If you miss the scheduled make-up, then you may lose points or get a zero.

Extra Credit

Extra credit will occasionally be given out at my discretion. One thing to consider is, “if you ask for extra credit, you won't get it.”

What I expect of you as a student

 1. To come to class mentally ready and eager to learn.

 2. To come prepared for every class with all classroom supplies.

 3. To complete your homework assignments on time.

 4. To ask questions, ask questions, and ask more questions.

5. To be a good citizen in class and in school and to treat every person in this school with respect. (including yourself)

 6. To follow all classroom rules.

 7. Oh! Did I mention, ask questions? By the way, there are NO stupid questions.

What you can expect from me as a teacher

1.I will be as thoughtful and fair as I can be.

 2. I will give you help in class whenever you need it, and I will also be available for extra help.

 4. I will help you find the answers to your questions. However, I will push you to look for those answers as well.

 5. I will return corrected work to you in a timely manner.

 6. I will come to class prepared and ready to teach and listen.

 7. I will challenge you to be the best student you can be.

A little blurb about me!

I am excited to be teaching my 4th year at Byram Intermediate school.

I am a certified general/special education teacher. I am also certified to teach math up to 8th grade.

I am the mother of three incredible young men, and I am also married to a loving and supportive husband.

I grew up in Central New York and received my education from Buffalo State University.

My interests (outside of the classroom) include doing things with my family, home improvement, jewelry making, reading, and watching Buffalo Sabres hockey. "LETS GO BUFFALO!!!"

Before I began teaching, I was a barber and owned my own shop. Now, I love being a teacher. I especially love touching the lives of my students.

Classroom Supplies for 2010-2011

Please see individual websites for lists of classroom supplies.

PS: A box of tissues would be nice.

If you are in both my English and Literature classes you will only need 1 three ring binder and 2 packages of 5-tab dividers. Plus, the usual paper, pencils, pens, and folders.

I am looking forward to a happy and healthy school year. Lets have some fun while learning!

8th graders are given a packet of classroom rules and expectations on the first day of class. These packets are to be read by each student and their parents or gardians. These packets are to be signed and returned.
