Welcome to the Byram Lakes Elementary School Art Page ! |
"Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life." Pablo Picasso |
I'm Allison Pollison and am honored to have been given the opportunity to continue guiding, teaching, and learning from your children. Every year is more exciting and creative than the last. (For more about me, click here.) (to email me click here)
I believe in providing my students with an awareness of artists throughout history so the Lakes students may expect to see work by such greats as Piet Mondrian, Vincent van Gogh, Paul Klee, Georgia O’Keeffe, and Henri Matisse (to name a few). (Link to artist info. at Artchives.com, click here.)
To check out what's going on in our art room, click here for Art Room Happenings.
I am also including projects that will engage the children in cultural and historical art such as Cave Art, Ancient Egyptian Art, or Ancient Chinese Art. (click here for Chinese Warrior powerpoint presentation) It’s wonderfully exciting to experience the how and why of modern and ancient culture through hands-on art projects. (Click here for museum links.)
It is my sincere hope that our integrated curriculum, with an emphasis on critical thinking skills, will excite the children and instill sparks of creativity and imagination that will carry over into all aspects of their lives. (To visit the Artsonia.com kids museum site, click here.)
